SEAWEED
The ocean's quiet workhorse Seaweed requires no land, no freshwater, and no fertiliser to grow. Under optimal conditions, kelp can grow up to one metre a day. Studies report that producing 40 tons of dry seaweed from a single hectare of ocean can absorb over 20 tons of CO2 during processing — while algae are estimated to produce 75–80% of the earth's oxygen.
